Chorus Programs
Chorus Director information: Donna Box is a 20-year veteran of the Cleveland Orchestra Chorus. Donna has toured Europe with the Robert Page Festival Singers. She was a Choir Director for 12 years and has been the musical director for various Community Theatres. Under her direction, Brecksville Center for the Arts offers two opportunities for those who love to sing and perform.
Brecksville Community Chorus
The Brecksville Community Chorus originated in1991 to fill the desires of many whom simply enjoyed singing with a group.
The chorus welcomes singers, 16 years and older. It performs annual Christmas and Spring concerts with the Brecksville Center for the Arts Youth Chorus. They sing at Community events as well as retirement homes. Membership in the adult chorus is open to everyone, with no audition necessary. A fee of $10 is required to cover the cost of music supplies. Practices are held Monday evenings from7pm-9pm.
Youth Chorus
The Brecksville Center for the Arts Youth Chorus is entering its 9th year and was recently seen on the “Fox 8 in the Morning” TV show. Participation in the Youth Chorus is by audition only for boys and girls in the 4th through 8th grades. Auditions are held in September, with rehearsals every Tuesday (4:30-5:30) September through April. The Youth Chorus performs with the Community Chorus in an annual Christmas and Spring concert.
A fee of $30 is required to cover the cost of music and t-shirts.
